There is no possibility of advanced search within this application. In order to retrieve aurora borealis photos only, I added the term phenomenon, but irrelevant photos are still displaying.

If a librarian was responsible for tagging the photos, you would be able to only find relevant photos, but everyone and anyone is doing the tagging. If you're interested you can look at my Tasmanian photos - I have them arranged in sets with tags and descriptions as well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brettpetrinatasmania/sets/
